This weeks edition of Adweek was yet another ho-hum edition for those of us copywriters who work in radio.
The 2 highlights are on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and people who feel lonely at work.
The article on page 10 about DEI in the workplace and why everyone at Cannes, not just speakers, should be discussing such an important issue – is an interesting read.
And the Data-Point chart and discussion on people feeling lonley at work was an interesting read for those of us who want to discuss mental health in the workplace, and might also be useful for writing your next script in the self-care/health category. So that was worth a spot in my Swipe File
But the rest of the issue, well – you know my thoughts on Adweek.
After all, their Creative 100 list includes: Icons and influencers, agency leaders, agency talent, visionary directors, media innovators, branded content innovators, tv and streaming indicators, visual innovators, radio and audio innovators (Wait? Nope! Scratch that – it doesn’t have that last one at all).
Sure some of the people on the Creative 100 list work in music, and might produce the occasional podcast – but come on! AdWeek has TV, online, agency, film, print, but no radio?
Sigh!
