The latest issue (June 22, 2022) of RADIO WORLD magazine just hit my in-box and in it was a brilliant little piece by JOHN BISSET, on how to turn an old Bike Disc Brake into a microphone stand for your desk – read it HERE.
The parts are super easy to obtain and for less than $50 Aus you can have your own unique Mic. stand.
Personally I think every radio copywriter should have a microphone on their desk to record themselves reading a script, recording pronunciation guides for the voice talent to follow and as a handy dandy piece of desktop decoration.

The rest of the issue of Radio World is the usual fare, but the article (page 5+) on Supply Chain Issues by Randy J Stine is something that everyone should be aware of.
And because I write freelance for some clients in Canada, I was fascinated by James Careless’ article (page 18+)on HD radio in Canada (considering the failure that DAB was). So that was definitely worth a read.
And then there’s the interview by T. Carter Ross with the new Commercial Radio Australia CEO Ford Ennals (on page 22) was a quick insight into my own market here in Australia.
And finally Mark Lapidus’ article (page 23+) on radio becoming invisible to global marketers is brief but worth reading if you are in management, and radio sales.
