The latest issue of Radio World hit my inbox yesterday and I have to say I am discovering more and more through Radio World than I ever had.

The last 6 months has seen quite a change with articles that not only cover the technical elements, but also some of the more, how shall I say ‘direction that radio is heading in’ instead of just transmitter site photos and complaints about replacement studio lights that used to populate the pages.
For example – in this issue the cover story by Randy J Stone on iHeart radio’s use of voice cloning AI was impressive. This is something that I have been looking into too, and had various copywriters and producers comment about where the direction of AI Synthetic voices might lead to. Randy’s comprehensive 4 page article does this justice and then some.
Next – for those of us who also work from home, Dan Slentz wrote a great piece on remote access. His top 10 alternatives list contains 5 free remote access programs and 5 paid ones. There were a couple there that I had never heard of so I can recommend this read.
Yet again another great issue from Radio World – with all the rest of the technical and behind the scenes stuff we usually read… then there was a full page ad for their free e-books – wait stop! What? So I hit up their website – HERE (the direct link to the e-books section) and went to the RESOURCES section…
WOW! They have an amazing amount of free e-books available, and I am particularly looking forward to sitting down and reading through the SPECTACULAR RADIO STUDIOS book – and setting a couple of the WEBINARS playing that they have available too (check them out – HERE)
It just goes to show you that you can’t judge a magazine by their old issues – Radio World have really lifted their game and I am loving the direction they are heading in.
