Promotions: Are you the “Official” Anything?

Posted on 20 September 20228 November 2022 By earlp

A short (very) sharp post today after chatting with a new client/sponsor:

We were chatting to a sponsor the other day and they asked if we were the ‘Official Sponsor of’ anything?

I thought this was a great question, and as they are a local sporting team we are now their ‘official sponsor of’ their team.

It was just something that had never occurred to us as a team?

We have sponsors who sponsor segments and shows – but us as a station being ‘the official sponsor of’ something – we should have done this years ago!

Someone in that same meeting said that we should also describe how we are the sponsor – and this made sense to me – so we could say something like “<STATION NAME> official sponsor of <TEAM NAME>, hear us before and after every game” or “<STATION NAME> official sponsor of <TEAM NAME> training sessions”

Have you done this before? Or are you the official sponsor of a particular event, group, charity or business? I’d love to know how you word your sponsorship on-air promo’s – please let us know below.
