I have a sales friend who works at a radio station in the US, and they use various Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) apps, and to a lesser extent scheduling apps.
When I last spoke to him a month ago, he was really excited about an app called BADGER MAPS – which he told me was a route planner app that has cut out wasted time for him running from one scheduled meeting to another and missing meetings, taking wrong turns, and generally missing face time with his clients
I spoke to him again this week and he is a total convert, so this is Adam’s short review on the BAGERMAPS App… (he and myself are receiving no payments for this review and Adam is actually paying to use this service – this is NOT a paid advertisement for this product)
There is a 30 second video on the home page of Badger Maps to watch – and it gives you an idea of what Adam is talking about below. Find it – HERE
Adam says: “BadgerMaps is an app for field sales reps that enables them be more efficient, and has helped me to make more sales because I am where I need to be when I said I would be.
How?
Badger lets the sales team to manage their territory better by combining Google Maps, CRM data, route optimization, schedule planning, and lead generation on the sales person’s mobile device or laptop.
Badger also sends data from the field to your CRM.
Badger helps sales managers understand what is going on in the field and has reporting and insights to help manage the sales team better.
It is a cloud based service, and at $59 a month (October, 2022) it is costly, but by gum it is worth it.
There is a free trial which I can highly recommend, and it will give you a taste of what you will experience – but it does take some syncing up with your CRM to work the way you want it to, or at least for you to get used to it.
The convenience and ease of the app allows me to simplify my travel schedule so I am travelling less and saves me so much time. Allowing me to arrive in time for my next appointment.
The app keeps everything I need to document, including all of the client correspondence and bookings, (Authority To Broadcast) ATB’s, even air schedules and more all together and makes everything easy to find, access and send on if I need to.
What would normally take me at least an hour or two to track my day and document any and all communication between clients and myself now only takes maybe 10-15 min or half an hour if I have a full day to schedule and honestly – it’s that easy that I can do it over breakfast or coffee.
THE BIGGEST PLUS FOR ME: If I need to change something on the fly, it’s simple to modify on the go without having to re-schedule my entire day. So when I am planning my route for the day, you can simply drop in as many points as you need to in one route.
I use the app on my tablet, and the only problem I have ever encountered was the search function. I have had to close the app and relaunch it to fix it as it doesn’t want to clear the cache.
Here is a great review video…
Overall BADGERMAPS is uber powerful, super useful and the best time-saving app I have come across in 10 years of radio sales.”
Thanks Adam – as you can see he is a true convert to the app.
It made me think – are there any other apps out there that radio sales people use? If so – let me know in the comments below and I will see if we can get a review up on here for those too.
