As a team we have been doing a bit of a dive into the data on the site – and today I discuss Thursdays On-Air posts and a possible change of direction for the site…
As Thursday’s web traffic is way, way less than the other days of the weeks, and the posts themselves on the topic of ON-AIR are of a very low count – I am seriously considering dropping them in favour of a walkthrough of writing a commercial script from start to finish… what are your thoughts on this? (Comment below – yes comments are back on for this page only).
While we are on the topic of changes – I have been planning a major shake up of this site, as of the 1st of June, 2023 we will be changing over to just being a repository for free downloads, and the sale of the e-books for our industry – thus we will be stopping the posts all together.
This has been a tough decision, but it allows the team behind the site to focus solely on the books, and give more time to the other projects that they are working on (more on that in the coming months).
We will be compiling the posts that have gone up into FREE handy e-books that you can download and use for each topic – such as COPY, PROMOS, SALES, etc.
At this time I would like to say that we do have our posts for the next couple of months already locked in (at least the topics of those posts, if not the content) and the final post will go up on the 30th of June – being the final review that we will do.
It will be sad to see the posts go, and I know that a lot of them are very popular, we get a LOT of feedback about the RCNews on Sunday, as with the COPY, SALES and PROMO posts – but we do get next to nothing on the ON-AIR posts (see above) and as such, we will be retiring it early.
We may try a couple of different ideas out in the coming weeks – to see how they go – so pop back regularly and see what is happening.
Anyway, that’s the way things are rolling behind the scenes here – so if you want to comment – please do below and thanks for the feedback along the way – I know that all of us behind the scenes truly treasure the comments, the feedback and the journey we have been on in this last year.
We look forward to the next stage, and hopefully you will enjoy and be able to use our site for years to come.
Thanks for your feedback everyone.

Sad to see and hear that things will change.
Its been very interesting and I use your site almost on a daily basis to teach my students about media – so thanks to you and your team.
Good luck with your plans for the future – I will wait and see what happens next
Those of us reading this website probably don’t realise how much work goes into it – and I just wanted to say that I certainly read it on a daily basis – even the on air stuff – and I work in sales. I am new to the industry and this has been a great way to find out more about other departments. So thankyou and the team for putting everything together – I have really enjoyed everything so far, I haven’t agreed with some of it – but I have learnt a lot about how radio works from a copywriters perspective – so for that thankyou.
The posts will be missed! But excited to see what comes next đŸ™‚ thanks for the great content, always an interesting read and the work that goes into them is appreciated.
Dais.
Sad to hear you will be removing but I appreciate the reasoning behind it. I jumped on way too late in the process, so I still have a lot of blogs to catch up n, so thank you for putting them all together for those that need to play catch ups. Thanks for all the hard work and great information.
