The annual Tech Survey is of interest to those of us who work (no matter what role we do) from home, or in the studio/office. The ABC in Australia have been in the dumps lately with all of it’s radio brands across the country taking massive hits in their ratings. Triple J – thought to be the domain of hip Gen Z’s is losing out to Tik Tok and the like – why? Because when 3 minutes of dead air go unnoticed by it’s presenters/technical and management crew – just who is listening (let alone monitoring) to Triple J these days? UK Radio 5 presenter had a shock last week when “I found out I had ADHD while live on air” – presenter Connie McLaughlin was interviewing a guest with ADHD when she had her ‘a ha’ moment. Story is by Connie herself and carried on The Big Issue website.

How is this for a slow burn on-air competition – perfect for regional radio stations – Michigan Radio covered an NPR story – A Sheep to Shawl competition, you have 5 people, 1 sheep, and 3 hours — I could hear this in my minds eye and thought that it would be a fantastic live competition. Check it out.
Radio Prague International reports on Czech Radio’s youth and alternative station Radio Wave has found sustained success after some major challenges …using smarter strategies, promotion using new tools and so on. “Thinking outside the traditional radio box” is a very interesting read for every promotion department out there.
