I have worked in media – from a very, very early aged (my first print ad was when I was 11) and have worked in newspapers for 8 years, television for 12 years, held public relations and marketing roles for 5 years, and worked in radio for the rest of my time. That brings me up to 40 years in media at the end of 2022.
Having done many different roles, from design, production, editing and directing, writing and more.
But my main love is… RADIO!
Fortunately I have had the opportunity to train at the feet of people who didn’t only deal with the theory of advertising and what ‘should and shouldn’t work’ on radio… but learnt side by side with them about what ‘really’ works for clients and gets a reaction from listeners. Thank you all for your time and guidance.
I have worked both full time, and in a freelance position, remotely and in person at many workplaces, for many individual clients and businesses and, I have been inspired by the people I have worked with all around the world, from the UK to Canada, Europe to North America, New Zealand and here in Australia.
There are many people who mentored me on my journey, but a couple of special mentions I need to make include: Josh Langley (Macquarie Radio and then Outside Creative), and Steve Burke (at GWN Television) who is to blame for me writing my first commercial script ever – it’s all your fault Steve!
