After more than a year of passion, dedication, and genuine excitement about what we were building together, I find myself writing the most difficult post in my magazine Radio Copy Paste’s history.
Following several emergency meetings over the past week, culminating in discussions this morning, the RCP editorial team has made the decision to discontinue the magazine immediately, and dissolving the editorial team.
When this decision was presented to me late in the process, I was stunned.
Thus, Issue 6 (which came out in September – HERE) was our final edition.
While there were differences of opinion within the international editorial team about the magazine’s direction and future, I want to be clear: this was not a decision I initiated, or, one I made lightly after it finally landed on my desk.
Radio Copy Paste Magazine has been a labor of love for me, and watching our download numbers grow issue after issue showed me we were connecting with radio professionals who needed what we were offering.
The comments, feedback and hype we received from readers of the magazine, and those within the industry was fantastic to behold.
But sometimes things don’t work out the way we hope, regardless of success metrics.
What This Means Going Forward…
The good news is that Radio Copy Paste isn’t disappearing entirely:
1. All six issues will remain available in our archive at www.radiocopywriters.com
2. The website continues with all tools and resources still accessible
3. Earl Pilkington will continue publishing his eBooks (with physical books hopefully coming soon) and also maintaining the website
While the magazine format is ending, the mission of supporting radio copywriters and creative professionals remains very much alive.
“This has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my 40+ year career in radio, television, newspapers, public relations, and web design. To everyone who downloaded, read, shared, and supported Radio Copy Paste Magazine over these six issues: thank you. You made it worthwhile.
The magazine may be closing, but the resources, the community, and the commitment to great radio copy will continue.”
“To those who wrote articles, downloaded and read each issue, sent messages, and made connections… I want to thank every single one of you – and where I can I will be reaching out to those who email regularly and taking the time to say thankyou personally to all of those who wrote articles. Without your contributions we wouldn’t have had such an amazing magazine.”
THANKYOU ALL
